What to Expect from the Virtual Classroom Method
Our fully interactive, real-time system, Virtual Classroom offers the unparalleled classroom experience of your local campus and instructors in an online format. Virtual Classroom allows the remote student or office to participate in a class as if they were actually there. Students are required to attend all course hours before being able to access the exam. Once course hours have been attended and quizzes have been completed, the student will then gain access to any exams required for course completion.

Retrieve and Review Course Materials
Prior to the start of class, students will need to have reviewed their textbook and complete any chapter pre-tests or exercises found in the materials. Students are expected to spend at least fifteen hours studying the material independently of the scheduled lecture portion of the course, per TREC rules. A downloadable PDF textbook (if available) can be found in the 'Materials' section along with any other required materials that are available digitally. When applicable, physical textbooks are included and can be shipped to you for an additional shipping fee or picked up at the campus free of charge.
Please Note - Textbooks for certain courses are not available for download. These textbooks must be shipped to you or picked up at your nearest campus. Please contact a Course Coordinator for more information. If a digital textbook is not available, please be sure to have the textbook in hand before the class begins.

Test Equipment
Virtual Classroom classes are held via Zoom video conferencing so a webcam, speakers, and microphone are required to attend. To ensure your computer meets the system requirements, please click on the Zoom test link provided (Zoom Equipment Test). A link to the class will be emailed to you 24-hours before the class is scheduled to begin. The link will also be made available from this page and the My Classes screen on the day of class.
-
Check In Early on Day of Class
Virtual Classroom courses are presented using Zoom. On the day of class, make sure your webcam is connected and then click on the provided Zoom link to connect to the session and check-in for class. It is highly recommended that you access the class session about 10 - 15 minutes early so that you have plenty of time to check-in and get settled before the lecture begins. Please have your photo ID ready when you log in. Please review the information in your Pre-Class Reminder email for important details about the class such as class conduct, your class link, and scheduled start time.
Please Note - If you have not received the Zoom link by the day of class, you can also find it in your student account on the "My Classes"page. If you are still having trouble, please call the ChampionsLive Department at 866-272-5962.
-
Attend the Class
Students must attend all classroom hours and complete all required assigments (homework, quizzes, etc) in order to take the final exam and complete the course. Please reference your Pre-Class email (sent the day before class is scheduled to begin) for additional information related to this course.
Class Conduct - This is an interactive course, and you will have the opportunity to interact, in real time, with your instructor. It is required that you dress and behave as if you were attending class in the classroom. Please be aware that you must be visible on camera for the duration of the class to receive credit for your attendance.
Please be respectful of your fellow students. Just as in a live classroom, please avoid behaviors that will be distracting to your classmates or instructor.
Participation - Ensure you attend from a location that allows you to fully participate in class (your home or office).
-
Pass the Final Exam (If applicable)
If required by the regulatory body (TREC, TALCB, etc), a final exam will be administered at the end of the final day of class. This exam must be passed with a 70% or higher to receive credit. If you fail an exam, you can arrange to retake the exam via our Virtual Proctoring system or in one of our on-campus testing centers.
Homework / Chapter Quizzes - Students are required to complete all homework/quizzes before the scheduled test time.
30-Hour QE/SAE Courses - The exams for 30-hour QE/SAE courses are required by TREC to be closed-book. Champions will enforce this policy and lock your exam if we discover that a Textbook is being used.
Exam Retakes - If you fail the first exam, you must wait three days before you can take the second exam. In the event that you do not pass the second exam, there is a $50.00 retake fee for the course to be reset.
Exam Timing - Per TREC rules, a 30-hour Qualifying Education (QE) or Sales Apprentice Education (SAE) course exam should not be accessed until the required amount of TREC course hours have been spent in the course. If any portion of class is missed, the hours must be made up in our testing center prior to taking the Final Exam. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
-
Complete any Required Paperwork
After class is complete, you will receive a final email containing any paperwork which may need to be completed in order to receive course credit (clear instructions on how to complete and return that paperwork will be provided) in addition to a Course Evaluation form.
-
Receive Your Course Completion Certificate
Once you have passed the course exam, you will be able to download your course certificate (if applicable) from the Post-Class Documentation section of the Class Information screen or from the button on the "My Classes"page. Champions does NOT report QE or SAE courses electronically so you must email this certificate to TREC (documents@trec.texas.gov) to receive credit.
-
Report Course Completion Credit to the Appropriate Regulatory Agency
Upon successfully passing the final exam, you will receive credit for the course that will be provided to the necessary Regulatory Agency (TREC, TALCB, NMLS, etc). The method in which credit is reported differs depending on the type of course you completed. If you have questions about the reporting procedure for a class, please speak with a career counselor.
